I can’t believe it’s finally here!!
Time has seriously flown by and I can’t wait to see Maria finally walk down the aisle today. The last year and a half (and especially the past few months) have been hectic, crazy and stressful but it has all been worth it leading up to today. I know today will be hard for Maria since her dad isn’t here and her brother couldn’t make it, but there will be a LOT of love for Maria and Eric in the room filled with 270 people tonight and plenty of people smiling down on them. Today will be filled with quite a few tears but will also be one of the happiest days of her life. :)
Cheers to the beautiful bride and congratulations to Maria and Eric!!! Now let’s hope I don’t trip or screw up my speech ;)
Maria will be walking down the aisle tomorrow… *tear* I love the quotes in this article from men on what they were thinking when their bride walked down the aisle. <3
“The moment I saw her I realized how blessed I was that this woman chose to be my wife.”
The wedding is approaching quickly this week! This is a great quick rundown of things for wedding guests to keep in mind when attending a wedding.
Headed to Missouri today for the festivities! Long 8 hour drive ahead with lots of time to practice the MOH speech. Looking forward to the strange looks from other drivers as I talk to myself in the car. :)
Also in tow are 3 cases of champagne for the toast at the reception. If somehow I get stranded along the way, at least I won’t be thirsty.
Here’s one of the red flowers Maria was considering for her hair, from the shop All About Romance on Etsy. This shop has beautiful, unique and perfect accessories for the bride-to-be. A must-see!
A few photos from Maria’s third bridal shower on August 27 in Columbia.
This shower was primarily Maria’s Filipino friends and family members celebrating… basically everyone was Filipino but me, ha! We lots of traditional Filipino food (always a must at any Filipino function), played games, opened gifts and they took a TON of pictures! Maria got a few embarrassing gifts (hence, the pictures above - she was bright red considering the crowd) and they gave away cute party favors with red flowers. Lots of fun. :)
Can’t wait to see my best friend walk down the aisle… one week!

The wedding is one week away!
As soon as we knock things off the to-do list, more seems to pop up. No surprises there! This weekend is prime time to get a lot of things done.
Along with attending our high school reunion last weekend in Missouri, Maria and I were able to finalize the menus, programs and table numbers, taste and pick the wines and champagne, run errands and make a lot of other decisions about the big day. It was really nice to be in town at the same time to get things done and spend some time together before this coming week’s madness!
Photos of the third and final bridal shower to come soon…
My other favorite part about this weekend is the fact that Maria and Eric’s air conditioning is currently broken in their apartment. Sounds bad… but it’s actually a blessing in disguise. Since it may not be fixed until Tuesday, their apartment complex is reimbursing them to stay in the hotel behind their apartment for the weekend. Free stay, nice pool, no need to pack (everything they need is right next door!) and quality time for the groom and bride-to-be. Perfect timing! With all the recent madness, I’m glad they’ll get to spend some quality time together away from the norm before all of the festivities.
Enjoy your last weekend as a non-married couple. :)
